The client, an Italian Electricity and Gas multinational turned to Present with the purpose of integrating network, infrastructure, and application monitoring event management in a single Event Management network An initiative that was part of a technology transformation program for the client’s Enterprise Monitoring Center. The company also needed to enable new correlation and automation features in a hybrid cloud delivery model.
By adopting Present’s solutions, the client was able to increase the effectiveness of its Incident Management, Service Request Management, Problem Management and Automation processes.
The implementation of the Present solution took place in a context where monitoring was made through a heterogeneous mix of technologies, including BMC, Broadcom, and IBM, with consequent limitations in terms of effectiveness, visibility of operational costs and scalability. It was also expressly requested to move to a solution based on IBM Netcool Operations Insight (NOI) and Dynatrace.
Present has planned and realised an interface of the Enterprise Monitoring platform, using IBM NOI, with that of IT Service Management (through ServiceNow) and with the monitoring of systems and applications through Dynatrace).
The integration and homogenisation of technologies has led to a great increase in efficiency and to the enabling of more effective process management skills and technological developments.
